Here is a progress picture. A few days ago I posted a graphite drawing I did while watching bad TV.

I mentioned I'd probably paint over it. I did! Here is the current version of it. I bet I will keep working on it though.

Painting is vibes

Some highlights from a quick jaunt to Montreal with @methinkswe. We took an 11-hour train from NYC which was just lovely. Reading and flying by the Adirondacks, eating train snacks. I would love to do more long train rides. Not a ton of art making on this trip since we were walking non-stop but we went to some amazing paper stores (@nota_bene_mtl & Papier Japonais). Also went to the archives where Mike could recherche his ancestor. And we went to an amazing coffee shop @crewcollectivecafe in a huge old bank or museum or something? (Thanks for such good recommendations @blakkhazel and @dansmoncrane !!❤️) I want to go back! We should have some kind of artsy retreat there. Montreal mocks our large American coffees yet gives us entire sacks of french fries, with our choice of mayonnaise. Hahaha **sips bucket of iced coffee**

I have been enjoying sharing snippets of my scrapbooks lately, I’m gonna keep doing it. This is an art account and art making is a huge part of my life, but it’s far from the only part.
Ever since I shared about my recurrent loss diagnosis last month I have felt a lot more authentic when I’m on here. I guess I just felt like what I share here was way different than how I have been feeling the past few years. But also, since my art process is intuitive, I can see some of the emotions coming through.

This is a picture of my bandaged hand. I had many many days like this when I was going through IVF. IVF involves a lot of bloodwork and my veins are very hard to find so the nurses would draw blood from my hands. I’m not afraid of needles or anything and I don’t mean this to be a complaint. I felt very privileged for the opportunity to do IVF even though it didn’t work out for us. Anyway when I see this picture it’s a total #mood for me. Bummer IVF days. Keepin it real. In a relentlessly curated way.

Always remembering our doggies. I know it’s the natural way of life to lose a dog. Just makes me feel good to share memories.

This was from a good porch sitting day.

Flipping through recent scrapbooks I see our long season of loss. Life involves such loss. I have gotten more used to it as the time goes on. Also, I am aware of a lot of joy and excitement.
