I'm Cait Sherwood, a mixed-media painter who works into art journals.

I make art from the trash of the art I made before.

Picking Journals

Recently I bought some beautiful handmade watercolor journals.  I was all excited to use them, and it's been great but I am wishing for smooth cream colored Moleskine paper again!  Whatever I use to art journal with, I soon crave the opposite.  Like I'll be using a large book and then I will crave a small one.  Then I use a small one and it feels intolerably small.  Luckily I have been working into these books so much lately that they will all get used eventually.

I love the look and absorbency of the rough pages!  But the tooth of it gets in my way, with smooth paper I can use much more detail.

I try to stop myself from over-buying supplies (ha...).  I try to use what I have, or most of what I have before I let myself get more.  But!  I bought a handmade traveler's notebook!  I ordered a handmade one so I could get the A5 size I prefer.
