I'm Cait Sherwood, a mixed-media painter who works into art journals.

I make art from the trash of the art I made before.

Mike and I flew down to San Antonio to see the opening of my show, Scraps!  I honestly didn't know if I would be able to go.  Up until I mailed my work away I was so focused on the work itself that I had a hard time finding mental space to make any other decisions.  But last minute we decided to just buy some tickets and go!  It was fun! It got me thinking of other places to fly for a weekend.

The show was perfect.  Stephanie did such a good job hanging all the work.  I was nervous about how well the collages would fill the room.  I knew the measurements of the space as I was developing the work but I hadn't physically been there before.  This was the first time I had a show where someone else took it upon themselves to hang it up and promote it.  I really liked that!

Also the gallery is in a warehouse space full of tons of other galleries so it was a really fun night. We met lots of people and ate Puerto Rican food.  If I lived in San Antonio I would go to that event every month.
