I'm Cait Sherwood, a mixed-media painter who works into art journals.

I make art from the trash of the art I made before.

Lavender & Neon Yellow

Xeroxed drawings, found photo, pen, gouache, graphite, airbrush paint, etc.

I noticed while making this page how much I like lavender to seep out from gray.  It's like the gray comes alive.  Layers upon layers of scribbling.  Neon yellow airbrush paint is so thin and transparent, so I can paint over my drawings and my book of quilt images leaving the covered images visible.

The old photo is from a book of old photographs I often draw from when I draw with a pencil. Other pictures in there are of farm ladies, reservoirs, friendships, porches, women with guns and... hunting bobcats.  The hunted bobcat images disturb me somewhat.  I keep thinking I will work with them some day.
